Frequently Asked Questions

“Do large parties get discounts?” In our case this is not possible. For a large restaurant that does not use their space to capacity this might make sense, but that is not our situation. We find that a large party is usually here a minimum 3 hours and therefore we do not “turn” the tables that we would normally do three times over. This is the formula we must use when determining costs per head for prix fix menus for large parties or minimum costs for closing the restaurant.

“Can you give a price including liquor?” We have never found that to be fair in the end to one of the parties involved. To say, “The average customer drinks 2 drinks per hour at $5 a drink so we will charge $10 hour per person for each hour you’re here” does not make for good business to us if they choose to consume Johnnie Walker Blue at $27 a glass or for you if your guests are soda drinkers. One of us loses and we don’t like to gamble. We do encourage you to pre-select wines to complement your menu or to limit the choices to wine & beer. For those who have bad experiences with other restaurants, we run an honest and reputable business and would like your referral to your friends. References of previous clients are available upon request.

“Can we have a private area screened off?” Depending on the size of your party and the other reservations for that evening we can try to accommodate these needs.

“Can we close the restaurant for our own party?” Yes, we have had dozens of clients choose this option to allow not only for ultimate privacy but the space-music-lighting-atmosphere can then be decorated entirely to your preferences. The number of people required to close is not an issue, we have catered a wedding of 30 on a Friday evening, but the minimum price that must be met remains the same.

“Can we do a buffet?” We never have and don’t encourage you to either. In our experiences at buffet events we have attended the food as been prepared hours in advance and left sitting in warmers. This is simply not a method we would be proud of.
